Jordan Henderson’s epic reaction to Diogo Jota’s last goal in his hat-trick for Liverpool has emerged.
The Reds saw off Atalanta 5-0 to top their Champions League group at the halfway mark.
Sadio Mane and Mohamed Salah both got on the score-sheet – but it was the Portuguese star, who arrived over the summer from Wolves, who stole the show.
The 23-year-old got Jurgen Klopp’s side off the mark with goals after 16 and 33 minutes in Italy.
Footage has emerged, though, of his third goal getting a strong reaction from captain Henderson in the build-up.
In the clip, there are 54 minutes on the clock and the Premier League champions are already 4-0 up.
A cross is looped into Atalanta midfielder Mario Pasalic at the far post – but his header back to the penalty box goes straight to Joe Gomez.
The defender puts it into the path of Curtis Jones, who feeds Mane on the left wing.
Henderson is with him, calling for the Senegalese international to square it to the middle of the pitch.
But the 28-year-old has already spotted a run from Jota behind the Atalanta defence, threading the ball to him with a curved pass on the outside of his right foot.
And the Reds captain yells in delight, saying: “Oh, what a pass! What a pass!”
Jota comes under pressure from goalkeeper Marco Sportiello – but he chips the ball over the Italian before slotting into an open net for his first Liverpool hat-trick.
This footage was soon shared on Reddit, where the Anfield faithful praised their captain for his emotive display of support.
“Hearing Hendo yelling at everyone all matches amazing,” one supporter said.
Another commented: “Such an amazing captain.”
While a third simply said: “Best captain in football.”
Jota’s hat-trick means that he has scored seven goals in his first 10 appearances for the Reds.
Henderson was not the only one with an epic reaction, though, as Klopp bellowed from the touchline on his third goal.
