Jamie Carragher believes Liverpool will be active in the transfer market at Jurgen Klopp looks to take his team to the next level. The Reds did not sign a single senior player last summer besides Adrian but now the former defenders thinks it’s time to bring in some extra reinforcements.
Klopp has always abided by the idea of improving on the training pitch as opposed to spending excess amounts of cash.
However slowly but surely he has been able to bring in a number of marquee signings to help Liverpool win silverware.
The Reds are currently 25 points clear at the top of the Premier League, but Carragher claims he’d be surprised if Klopp is willing to sit still once again.
“I think that Liverpool have been lucky in that none of the big players have really suffered serious injuries,” he told Sky Sports.

“If you think of the front three, certainty the two full-backs and Virgil van Dijk, they’re on that team sheet every week.
“I just think could there be more back up in case something happened.
“Certainly with Andy Robertson at left-back, he’s the only real recognised left-back at the club.
“I think with Trent [Alexander-Arnold] there’s a new young lad coming through at the club, Neco Williams, who Klopp has given a go.

Liverpool are about to do something unorthodox in Timo Werner transfer chase
Liverpool chief Michael Edwards already signed Sadio Mane and Roberto Firmino replacement
“I think he has now shown he is good enough to be his replacement or back-up if he’s ever out injured.”
Carragher also believes the attack is an area that needs upgrading, particularly with Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane off to the Africa Cup of Nations next January.
Timo Werner is the club’s priority heading into the summer transfer window and they will look to land the RB Leipzig frontman.
“I just think Liverpool need more than Divock Origi if one of the front three are out,” he added.
“Hence why Liverpool have been linked with Timo Werner.
“I do actually think Liverpool do need to invest to keep them where they are.
“Certainly for me a strong understudy to Andy Robertson and I wouldn’t say a big name striker but certainly someone who is going to come in and is really going to push that front three.
“I think they need to spend big and keep themselves ahead of the pack.”
