Arsenal goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez has revealed 10 teams want to sign him this summer.

The Argentinian goalkeeper stepped up between the sticks after first-choice shot- stopper Bernd Leno suffered a long-term knee injury in March away to Brighton.

The 27-year-old put in some impressive performances for the north London side and played in the FA Cup final win over Chelsea earlier this month.

But now Martinez is demanding he is made the number one choice after his excellent displays.

The Argentine told Marca: ‘I want to stay at Arsenal, but if I play more minutes.

‘Because on a personal level and my age, I need to have confidence that I will be given as many minutes as possible.

‘I am in the sights of ten teams in Europe. But I can’t say who those clubs are, because it’s nothing concrete.

The 27-year-old played in the FA Cup final win over Chelsea in August and cried afterwards

‘I still do not have a clear situation with Arsenal, when I have it when I return I will make the best decision for my career.’

Leno will return from injury at the start of the new season in September and so Martinez has given head coach Mikel Arteta a tricky ultimatum.

Martinez made nine Premier League appearances for the Gunners, winning five and keeping three clean sheets in these games.

Before Leno’s injury, the Argentinian goalkeeper had played in all six of Arsenal’s Europa League group games and eight other cup matches.

The shot stopper is one of Arsenal’s longest-serving players currently at the club, having moved to north London in 2010 from Independiente as a teenager.

Martinez revealed in an interview that he did not want to leave his family, who lived in difficult circumstances which resulted in the goalkeeper having a tough upbringing.

The goalkeeper then burst into tears in an interview after winning the FA Cup final when reminded about his origins and difficult journey to that moment of winning a major trophy.
