Tottenham have suffered the first blow in their managerial search, with Julian Nagelsmann set to be announced as the new manager of Bayern Munich. The RB Leipzig boss is believed to have been on Spurs’ shortlist to replace Jose Mourinho.

However, it is understood that the 33-year-old has agreed personal terms with the European champions, after the two clubs agreed to a massive compensation deal.

Spurs made the decision to part with Mourinho, after a run of one win in six matches.

Ryan Mason has been named as interim boss until the end of the season, giving Daniel Levy time to find a suitable replacement.

With Nagelsmann out of the running, various sources now claim that Ajax boss Erik ten Hag is set to move up their list of targets.

Ten Hag was the man in charge of Ajax when they reached the Champions League semi finals two years ago, where they lost to Spurs.

He is also set to guide the Dutch side to another Eredivisie title this season, who have all but wrapped up the league.

With that in mind, here are five players that Ten Hag could bring to north London, if he is giving the job in the dugout.

David Neres

The 24-year-old winger is one of the most highly rated players within Ten Hag’s squad.

Neres has eight goals in all competitions this season and could complete an exciting front three along with Harry Kane and Son Heung-Min.

Liverpool and Manchester United have both been linked with the Brazilian, who could finally make his Premier League move this summer.

Dusan Tadic

He may now be 32, but the Serbian has shown few signs of slowing down.

Since swapping the south coast of England for Amsterdam, Tadic has become one of the most effective forwards in the European game.

In total, he has 29 goal involvements this campaign and played  a pivotal role in their run the final four of the Champions League in 2020.

Ryan Gravenberch

The midfielder is one of the most sought after teenagers in European football and hiring Ten Hag could give Spurs a crucial edge in the race.

The likes of Manchester United, Juventus and Barcelona have all been linked with Gravenberch, who has been described as “a better version of Paul Pogba”.

Despite being just 18, he has played a pivotal role for Ajax this summer and may have done enough to earn himself a blockbuster move.

The Brazilian is still in his first full season in European football, but has already done enought to earn admiring glances from across the continent.

Signed by Sao Paulo last year, Antony has eight goals, eight assists and a highlight reel to make anyone blush.

Still just 21, there is a feeling Antony could be the next breakout star from his country and could thrive for Spurs under his current boss.
