Ex-Premier League winger slams ‘little fat kid’ for ‘s***bag’ red card tackle

Former Premier League winger Kevin Ellison has slammed an opponent calling him a ‘little fat kid’ after he made a horror challenge on him.

The 43-year-old veteran went viral after footage emerged of him suffering a stomach-churning tackle while playing for City of Liverpool. The step-eight side were playing Runcorn Linnets on Boxing Day when Ellison was hacked down with a dangerously high challenge following a heavy touch.

He gingerly rose to his feet while the opposition no.2 was sent off for the disgraceful attempt. But ex-Leicester City star Ellison took to Twitter post-match to share his unfiltered thoughts.

He tweeted: “S***bag tackle. Guess it’s the only way a little fat kid who couldn’t kick a ball down a hill can slow a 43-year-old man down.”

Others were in agreement, with one fan replying: “Lucky to walk away from that one big man, that's horrendous,” while another added: “Shambles that challenge.”

A third wrote: “Shocking tackle. Them old legs still too quick for them young players.”

Liverpudlian Ellison has spent 26-years as a professional footballer, beginning at Southport and enjoying spells across the Football League. He made one Premier League appearance for Leicester way back during the 2000/2001 season.

And having played for the likes of Lincoln, Hull and Morecambe, the winger is showing no signs of letting up. He managed to net a goal against the Linnets when a shot ricocheted off him and into the net, before picking up the man of the match award at the final whistle.
