Erling Haaland’s father Alf-Inge has revealed the Borussia Dortmund star spoke to Juventus before signing for the German side – and has left the door open for a big-money move in the summer.
Haaland Snr opened up on how son Erling idolised Serie A strikers Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Cristiano Ronaldo growing up and so talks with Juventus were held after they were hosted at a game against Inter Milan in Turin.
Hotshot striker Haaland is viewed as one of Europe’s hottest properties having scored 33 goals in just 32 games in all competitions for Dortmund.

And Haaland Snr, who played as a midfielder for Leeds and Manchester City, confirmed the family held talks in Turin before eventually signing for Lucien Favre’s side.
He told Tuttosport: ‘It’s true. It was a wonderful experience, we went to watch Juventus-Inter and I was really impressed with the atmosphere at the Juventus Stadium.
‘He was born a striker, and always adored players who scored lots of goals, but two in particular: (Zlatan) Ibrahimovic and Cristiano Ronaldo.

‘He also had a weakness for Mario Balotelli at Manchester City. He’s never satisfied and trains constantly, because he wants to become the best. He’s super focused and lives for football.
‘It’s easy to see how passionate he is, as if he scores two goals and is substituted, he gets angry because he wanted a third.
‘He is very happy at Borussia Dortmund right now, but Erling loves a challenge and you can never know what the future holds in football. We’ll see…’

Sportsmail reported on Friday that both Manchester clubs are set to pursue their interest in Haaland.
Manchester United fans are keen for the club to sign the Norwegian wonderkid with 33-year-old Edinson Cavani a short-term fix and Marcus Rashford and Anthony Martial both failing to impress in a central role this season.
United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has stated he is ‘proud’ of fellow Norwegian Haaland’s career progression so far, and could make a move for Haaland to bolster his attacking options.
