Cristiano Ronaldo has decided to change his setting during the coronavirus lockdown, opting to stay in a £3,500-a-week rented home in a quiet fishing village in Madeira.

After nearly a month on the island, the Juventus forward has decided to leave his £7m seven-storey home and relocate as he looks for more privacy for him, his partner Georgina Rodriguez and the rest of his family.

According to Portuguese outlet Correio de Manha, Ronaldo has rented a luxury villa on the island after photos were published in the newspapers of him at his former, more expensive residence.

Ronaldo, who has won five Ballon d’Or’s in a distinguished career, has rented a house with five bedrooms, two kitchens, and a private gym and swimming pool for training.

There is also a playroom for the four children, and a large garden where Ronaldo can continue to stay in shape.

Reportedly, Ronaldo is so keen to keep up his fitness regime that at one point he worked out at the Madeira national stadium, home of club C.D. Nacional.

The stadium was specially opened for him by the club’s president Rui Alves.
