Chelsea star Mason Mount sent a heartfelt message to Christian Pulisic after the winger suffered a hamstring injury in the warm-up to his side’s Premier League win over Burnley. But boss Frank Lampard has delivered a worrying update on the USA star, who is set to miss a gruelling run of fixtures.
Pulisic was due to start Saturday’s victory over Burnley but had to pull out of the warm-up, and was replaced in the starting line-up by Timo Werner.
Werner scored to add to earlier goals from Hakim Ziyech and Kurt Zouma as Chelsea climbed into the Premier League’s top four thanks to their third win of the season.
Mount impressed at Turf Moor, setting up Zouma’s headed goal from a corner.
And afterwards the 21-year-old wished Pulisic a speedy recovery as he dedicated the win to his team-mate.

“I felt sorry for Christian, he felt his [hamstring] in the warm up so hopefully he is back soon,” said Mount after the game, in quotes reported by Metro.
“He is an unbelievable player. We dedicated the win to him today. Timo [Werner] came in and was brilliant as were all the players after a tough week.”
Pulisic is now expected to be out for a number of weeks, with Premier League games coming up against Sheffield United, Newcastle, Tottenham, Leeds and Everton in the run-up to Christmas, as well as Champions League clashes against Rennes and Sevilla.
And Lampard hopes the winger’s injury is not to serious.

“He’s played three games, we’ve tried to manage him in the week and it’s a small feeling in his hamstring so we’ll have to see how he is over the next 24 hours,” said the Chelsea manager in quotes reported by The Sun.
“It’s a minor feeling that he had but definitely not right to go into 90 minutes of a game with that.
“Hopefully it’s short term, we’re talking weeks.”
Pulisic missed almost three months of last season due to a groin injury and also suffered a hamstring injury in the FA Cup final in August which kept him out at the beginning of this season.
Lampard said of the 22-year-old: “He’s frustrated because he’s worked so hard to get fit.”

Chelsea’s win over Burnley came after a 4-0 victory away to Krasnodar in the Europa League, and the previous weekend’s 0-0 draw against Manchester United at Old Trafford in the Premier League.
Mount said: “It was a tough week this week, three away games. A lot of travelling and flights, so we didn’t have a lot of time to recover for games but today I thought we were brilliant.
“Winning the game, winning the fight, matching them up and then we knew what we could do on the ball.
“I thought we did brilliantly and it showed in the scoreline.”
Chelsea’s next game is at home to Rennes in the Champions League on Wednesday, before Sheffield United visit Stamford Bridge in Saturday’s Premier League clash.
