Casemiro begs ‘incredible’ Cristiano Ronaldo to stay with him at Man Utd

Following a £70million move to Manchester United, in a £375k-per-week deal, former Real Madrid midfielder Casemiro has pleaded with team-mate Cristiano Ronaldo to stay at the club.

Having enjoyed so much success playing alongside each other in Madrid, it comes as no surprise that the Brazilian would want the striker to stay, with hopes they can reunite for more triumphs. During their time at Madrid the pair won four Champions Leagues, a La Liga title, a Copa del Rey, a Supercopa de Espana, two Uefa Super Cups, and two Fifa Club World Cups.

An incredible haul of trophies – and Casemiro is keen to create more success with Ronaldo at United.

“I’d be so excited to play with him, he knows how I feel about him,” he said speaking ahead of his move. He went on to plead with the striker to stay at the club. “One of the greatest players in the history of football, he’s incredible. I wish, I really, really, wish he’ll stay”.

Whether or not Ronaldo will listen to his team-mate is another matter. It has been reported that the forward is unhappy at United, and is looking for a move so that he can play Champions League football. The Portuguese star was also dropped for United’s derby victory against Liverpool on Monday.

As well as pleading for Ronaldo to stay, United’s new 30-year-old midfielder believes he has joined “the biggest club of England” and has insisted, despite his huge wages, that he has not joined them for the money. “Those who think I’m leaving for money is because they don’t know me. It’s not for money. They’re wrong,” he said.
