BT Sport were forced to issue an apology after Arsenal fans filled the airwaves with expletive language, including the C bomb, in response to Rodri's celebration after scoring for Manchester City.

The Spaniard snatched a last-gasp winner for City in stoppage time to hand Pep Guardiola's side an ill-deserved 2-1 win in north London.

Bukayo Saka had put the Gunners 1-0 up in the first half, but the game turned on its head just after half time when Riyad Mahrez tucked home a controversial penalty.

Things went from bad to worse for the host minutes later when Gabriel was sent off for his second booking in as many minutes.

And their misery was compounded in second half injury time as Rodri scored the winner before embarking on his own version of Emmanuel Adebayor's famous celebration from 2009.

The elated midfielder ripped off his top and ran over to celebrate not with the legions of City fans that had travelled down for the match – but in front of the furious Arsenal supporters.

Unable to contain their anger, home fans pelted Rodri and his team-mates with several items, including bottles and a toilet roll.

Is this the most s***house celebration of all-time? Let us know in the comments section.

Others yelled out obscenities, with "f******" and "c***" audible on more than one occasion in response to the celebrations.

Arsenal's players and stadium staff quickly cleared up the mess that had been strewn across the pitch before the game got back underway.

Commentator Darren Fletcher described the situation.

He said: "The corner where he celebrated is completely full now of objects that have been thrown into that area of the field, a lot of which have been cleared off by the players.

"There we go, there's the debris that has come raining down from the stands here. Temperatures running, very, very high in the stadium."

BT Sport were then forced to apologise for accidentally airing the bad language heard during the celebration.

Fletcher added: "If you did hear any bad language that offended you during the last few moments – as you can imagine temperatures are very, very high around where we are as well – we apologise for that."

While Arsenal fans inside the stadium raged at Rodri's celebration, City fans watching the game on TV had quite the opposite view.

One wrote on Twitter: "Late winner, top off, celebrating in the opposition fans. Lovely s***housery from Rodri."

While someone else said: "Nothing but respect for the rodri s***house celebration, gets added to the list of c**** in the premier league hall of fame, alongside maupay."

Another called him the "ultimate s***house."
