Barcelona hero Xavi believes his former colleague Neymar could be in line to make a stunning return to his former club.
The 28-year-old forward became the most expensive player in the world when PSG signed him from Barca for a fee of £198m in 2017, but he has had an up-and-down spell in Paris, and does not seem to have fully settled in the French capital.
Speculation continues to link him with a return to La Liga, and speaking in an interview with DJMariio on YouTube Xavi gave his backing to any potential Barcelona reunion for Neymar.
"Why not?" he said. "I shared a locker room with him and he seems a good person. He was professional and made the difference for the team at that time.
"I don’t want to get into club issues, but on the field he is one of the top five in the world."
As well as Neymar, Barcelona have also been linked with Inter Milan striker Lautaro Martinez, who has scored 11 goals in 20 Serie A starts this season.
Xavi is clearly a fan of the player, and added: "I like him. He gets away from defenders well, provides passing options, can play well in open or tight spaces. Barcelona are right to be interested in signing him."
Barcelona were top of La Liga when the season was suspended, two points ahead of their closest challengers Real Madrid after 27 games, but all is not well at the club.
