Arsenal eased past Scott Parker's Fulham as the 2020/21 Premier League season kicked off at Craven Cottage.

Goals from Alexandre Lacazette, new signing Gabriel Magalhaes and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang secured a 3-0 win for the Gunners.

There was also a debut start for summer signing Willian, who responded to the task by producing three assists.

It was a fine start for Mikel Arteta's side who played well against a battling Fulham in the first half.

Parker's men switched off in the second half while Arsenal kept up their tempo and wrapped up the win comfortably.

But despite the win, there were still some Arsenal players who had better days than others…

Winners

Alexandre Lacazette

Since arriving it's safe to say Lacazette hasn't quite had the same impact as Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang. And with inconsistent starts last season much was made of his future this summer.

But what a message to send Arteta. First goal of the Premier League season and a statement of intent.

Mohamed Elneny

On loan at Besiktas last season it seemed as though the Egyptian's days were numbered. But a solid display in the Community Shield led to a start at Craven Cottage.

Yet another decent performance and it seems as though Elneny might have a future yet.

Ainsley Maitland-Niles

Another who seemed to be on his way out this summer with the club reportedly making him available for transfer.

But like Elneny, Maitland-Niles stepped up in the Community Shield and has shown his credentials once again.

Gabriel Magalhaes

There can be a lot of pressure on new signings, especially when making their debuts away from home in the Premier League.

Gabriel slotted in seemlesly. A goal and a clean sheet – no better way to start.

Willian

Another who made their debut today and a classy performance it was too.

Three assists for the Brazilian who will fit in nicely in this Gunners side.

Losers

Bukayo Saka

After bursting onto the scene last season Saka will feel hard done by being left out of the starting XI. He is young, however, and will no doubt get plenty of other chances this term.

Nicolas Pepe

A penny for Pepe's thoughts after seeing Willian take his spot in the team and register three assists.

Arteta's plan will no doubt be to rotate the pair but while Willian plays like this it will be harder for Pepe to find game time.
