Ian Wright was found at his passionate and exuberant best while watching former club Arsenal’s swashbuckling 4-2 win over Leeds on Sunday.

The BBC pundit is renowned for his no-holds-barred displays when Arsenal are in action – and continued the heart-warming love affair with a wild celebration.

Wright was filmed racing around in the BBC studios after Hector Bellerin netted Arsenal’s third goal of a memorable afternoon.

Mikel Arteta’s team were able to respond to two consecutive defeats in style and reignited their hopes of securing European football again next season.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang caught the eye with his first ever Premier League hat-trick – but it was Bellerin’s goal which saw Wright joyfully leap to his feet.

The right back was an unlikely scorer, but notched a crucial effort on the stroke of half-time to leave Arsenal firmly in cruise control.

And in a hilarious video posted to Wright’s Twitter account, the legendary striker bounced along before skipping away in front of large bank of television screens.

A few punches into the air rounded off his reaction, before the footage panned to a disappointing-looking Leeds goalkeeper Illan Meslier seconds he shipped the third.

‘I’m very pleased with the result and very, very happy with the performance, especially in the first half against a fantastic team that make life so difficult for you,’ Arteta said post-match.

Boss Mikel Arteta praised his team’s showing after they reignited their European aspirations

‘We handled the situations really well. At half time I said they will never give up and that’s what Leeds did, they threw everything at us.

‘Every action you have to be full gas and paying so much attention. In any situation they can take advantage of it.

‘You have to be very precise to find the next pass and find the movement.

Arsenal supporters were also left in stitches when Wright sporting a woolly Marine beanie hat

‘The amount of chances we created and the type of goals we scored as well, I’m really pleased. Overall there are a lot of positives.’

Wright also cheekily showed his undying support for Arsenal earlier this season during Tottenham’s FA Cup tie at Marine.

The club’s supporters were left in stitches after the 57-year-old proudly sported a beanie hat featuring the non-league minnows’ badge while live on the BBC.
