Arsenal are hoping to sell three first-team players in order to bring in at least three new additions this summer, according to reports. Only a fine end to last season saw Mikel Arteta’s side finish as high as eighth in the Premier League. The Gunners are keen on making improvements in the upcoming window to bolster their chances of Champions League qualification next term.

Arsenal have been linked with a host of transfer targets but only some player departures have been confirmed so far.

David Luiz will leave the club following the expiry of his contract at the end of this month.

Loanees Martin Odegaard, Dani Ceballos and Mat Ryan have also returned to their parent clubs.

But those are unlikely to be the only players who move on from the Emirates.

CBS Sports claims Granit Xhaka, Hector Bellerin and Reiss Nelson could all be on their way.

Arsenal hope the money they raise through those three sales will help them bring in the new signings they want.

CBS says Arsenal want to strengthen in attacking midfield, centre midfield and at right-back.

Xhaka is reportedly closing in on a move to Serie A side Roma.

Bellerin, meanwhile, is wanted by both Atletico Madrid and Real Betis.

And academy graduate Nelson is attracting interest from clubs in Germany.

Nelson failed to make a Premier League start last season, coming on as a substitute on just two occasions.

So who could Arsenal target if those three players do end up leaving the club?

In terms of midfield, Wolves star Ruben Neves has reportedly become a key target for the Gunners.

Brighton ace Yves Bissouma and Sheffield United’s Sander Berge are also said to be targets.

At right-back Arsenal have been linked with a host of names, including Tariq Lamptey, Max Aarons and Emerson Royal.

Arsenal would likely only invest in that position if they can shift Bellerin out of the club.

Meanwhile, Martin Odegaard remains the club’s top target in attacking midfield.

Odegaard spent the second half of last season on loan at the Emirates.

Arteta has made it clear he would like the Norwegian to return to the club if possible next term.

Arsenal were linked with a move for Norwich City star Emi Buendia.

However, Aston Villa offered a higher offer to Norwich and have announced Buendia is set to complete a move to Villa Park this week.
