Arsenal: Arteta previews Premier League clash with Burnley
Arsenal fans have highlighted Matteo Guendouzi’s stunning goal for Hertha Berlin to suggest that Mikel Arteta made a mistake in the transfer window. Guendouzi scored a rocket from the edge of the box to earn Hertha a point against Borussia Moenchengladback on Friday night.
The French midfielder celebrated his goal with a shrug as if to question why Gunners boss Arteta sent him out on a season-long loan.
And fans were left asking the same question, with one supporter questioning why Guendouzi was shipped out while Arsenal held on to Granit Xhaka, who was criticised after a poor performance in last weekend’s defeat to Tottenham.
Guendouzi was frozen out of Arteta’s plans after clashing with Brighton players during the Gunners’ 2-1 Premier League defeat in June.
Arsenal were open to selling him during the summer, but no buyer could be found and he ended up heading to the Bundesliga on loan.

And the 21-year-old proved his worth against Moenchengladbach, running on to a square ball on the edge of the box and lashing home into the top corner as he beat the press from an onrushing defender.
Arsenal could have done with that kind of sharp shooting recently, having scored just once in their last four Premier League games.
That run of games consisted of three defeats and a draw, dropping the Gunners down to 15th in the table ahead of Sunday’s Emirates clash against Burnley.
After Guendouzi’s stunner on Friday night, one supporter said on Twitter: “We have to suffer with Xhaka playing meanwhile Guendonzi just scoring worldies in the Bundesliga.”

Another supporter compared Guendouzi with Dani Ceballos, tweeting: “This is what ceballos dreams of all week.”
And another worried that the door is closed to the midfielder as long as Arteta is in charge at the Emirates, saying: “What do we do with him? He probably won’t sign a new contract with Arteta here.”
However, some fans urged their fellow supporters not to get carried away, with one posting: “Scores one goal per season, what a player”.

Another wrote “Lol..just one goal,” saying of the midfielder’s time with Arsenal: “He couldn’t even conjure a counter, play final passes or anything.”
Guendouzi’s sitiuation is somewhat similar to that of Mesut Ozil, with Arteta facing calls to recall the midfielder into his squad having left him out in the cold since March, with Arsenal suffering from a lack of creativity in his absence.
