Granit Xhaka got Arsenal supporters all the more excited for the new season with a sign of things to come in Switzerland’s game with Germany.
The midfielder has become an integral part of Mikel Arteta’s team and future plans, having looked destined to leave the Emirates Stadium earlier in the 2019/20 campaign.
Xhaka shook off the incident where he challenged fans and lost the captain’s armband.
And he is now expected to start for Arsenal when they go to London rivals Fulham on Saturday for their Premier League opener (12.30pm).
The 27-year-old looks in top form with plenty of confidence, judging by his play for Switzerland.
Late in their 1-1 UEFA Nations League draw with Germany, the ball was cleared out from a corner to Xhaka about 40 yards out.
And he expertly sliced a volley first time out to the wing to set up another Switzerland attack.
Arsenal fans were left in awe of the expert piece of skill, and reacted to the pass on Twitter.
One Gunners fan posted: “This is one of the most creative, well-executed and difficult passes of all time.”

Another said: “People who say he shouldn’t start in midfield even if we sign Partey and Aouar scare me.”
A third asked: “Remember when I told you Xhaka has 99 problems but passing isn't of them? That's what I mean.”
“If this was Pogba the whole of football twitter would be creaming themselves,” a fourth insisted.
“Been saying he is one of the best passers in the league. Just doesn’t have the assists to back it up,” a fifth said.
And a final Arsenal fan gushed: “Love seeing him with this level of confidence, I think we’ll see a whole other level this season!”
While Xhaka is almost guaranteed to feature against Fulham at Craven Cottage in Arsenal’s first Premier League game in five days’ time, another surprise selection could be Mesut Ozil.
Reports have suggested the playmaker, who was outcasted largely last term, may be part of the starting XI.
