Arsenal and Manchester United face competition to sign Thomas Partey after Inter Milan and Roma joined the race for the Atletico Madrid star.
Partey was in excellent form for Atletico before the La Liga season was halted by the coronavirus pandemic.
The 26-year-old is the first-choice pivot for Rojiblancos boss Diego Simeone, although he can also play in attacking midfield.
Atletico are hoping to tie down Partey to a new deal – although discussions are still ongoing with no agreement reached yet.
And the longer the talks go on without a resolution, the more it will encourage Partey's suitors they can land the Ghana international if they trigger his £42million release clause.
And the ongoing situation has alerted Inter Milan, who have joined United, Arsenal and Roma in weighing up a swoop for the midfielder, according to Mundo Deportivo.
Partey showcased his combative and energetic style in Atletico's recent Champions League last-16 win over Liverpool at Anfield.
Arsenal are looking to improve in midfield – among other areas – as boss Mikel Arteta makes plans to mould his squad at the Emirates.
United are also reportedly interested in Partey, with manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer needing to add to his engine room options – especially as he could lose Paul Pogba in the summer.
