Lewis Hamilton wows fans with impressive guitar performance on social media

Lewis Hamilton has shown off his musical skills away from the track in a surprise Twitter video.

The Brit has been enjoying a week away from testing with Mercedes, having signed a £40m one-year deal with the F1 team.

But the weekend in Bahrain did not go to plan, with the car suffering some faults and spinning the seven-time champion off the track.

The racer, though, has shared footage of him relaxing in a musical way on social media.

Hamilton posted a video to his 6.2m Twitter followers plucking and strumming an acoustic guitar.

Concentrating on his hand movements, the 36-year-old put together a soothing melody before breaking out into chords.

Accompanying the clip, Hamilton wrote: Not great at playing but the point is I love it and that’s all that matters.”

But fans of the F1 superstar were suitably impressed with the Brit’s musical talents.

“Certainly better at playing than 98% of us watching,” one said.

Another commented: “You’re so talented!”

While a third sarcastically wrote: “‘Not great at playing’, he says. Sounded pretty good to me Lewis.”

And a fourth added: “Sounds OK to me! Good luck this season.”

A fifth made a cheeky prediction, with: “See your album in the top 10!”

With a final supporter simply saying: “I could listen to it all day.”

Hamilton is not the only one with musical talents on the grid, though, as Sebastian Vettel can also hit the drums.
