Tony Ferguson has sent a chilling warning Justin Gaethje’s way. The Ultimate Fighter season 13 winner will locks horns with ‘The Highlight’ this weekend in the main event of UFC 249 in Jacksonville, Florida.
The winner of Ferguson vs Gaethje will be crowned interim lightweight champion an earn a unification fight against undisputed title holder Khabib Nurmagomedov.
Prior to the coronavirus outbreak and travel restrictions being implemented across the globe, Ferguson was set to challenge Nurmagomedov for the 155lb crown.
Gaethje was drafted in as a short-notice replacement for the Russian but was being given more time to prepare for Ferguson following the UFC’s postponement of this weekend’s card, which was initially meant to take place on April 18.
Ferguson has been in training camp for several months now and is brimming with confidence ahead of his return, so much so he’s adamant Gaethje won’t be leaving the cage weekend.

“I train like a f****** vicious dude. I’m always preparing for three to four people. And that’s why I’m ahead of schedule,” Ferguson said.
“I haven’t had this confidence in a long f****** time. It took the training and I needed an opponent. He’s not getting out of the cage.”
‘El Cucuy’ is on a staggering 12-fight win streak, with his victim list boasting the names of some of the 155lb division’s elite.
All those who have crossed paths with Ferguson have left the cage looking disfigured and needing a prolonged recovery time.

“They sign on the dotted line,” Ferguson said of his opponents. They know what they’re getting themselves into, because El Cucuy’s gonna get your a**. I’m a f****** contracted killer out there.”
Gaethje himself has been on an impressive run as of late, winning his last three outings via first-round KO.
The former World Series of Fighting lightweight champion has Ferguson’s utmost respect, although the former interim 155lb king insists he’ll snap 31-year-old’s win streak.
“The fight’s gonna play out one way,” he said. “My hand raised in victory. And I’m gonna defend my belt.”
