Khabib Nurmagomedov’s father is in hospital receiving treatment for a heart problem, according to reports in Russia.

He was tested for coronavirus but his results came back as negative, with the illness thought to be the consequence of two days walking in freezing conditions in the mountains of Makhachkala.

The 57-year-old originally fell ill after spending two days walking in the Russian mountains
But his latest problem appears to be more serious, after family friend and wrestling referee Ubaydula Osmanov told reporters he had required further medical treatment.
‘A few days ago I spoke with Abdulmanap, he told me everything was fine, that he’s recovering,’ Osmanov told RIA Dagestan.
‘[But] On May 3 one of his close relatives called me and said that suddenly he felt worse, and they’d taken him on a special flight to Moscow.
‘I believe there were problems with his heart.’
Former UFC champions Oleg Taktarov (second right) has used health issues to stoke feud
The 57-year-old’s health issues have been used as a stick to bait the Nurmagomedov family after a former UFC champion made comments about his condition.
‘All illnesses come when you get nervous,’ former Russian star, Oleg Taktarov, reportedly told reporters in Russia.
Taktarov recently hit back at Khabib’s father for claiming that he wasn’t a bonafide champion.
Taktarov won the sixth UFC tournament back in 1995 when the competition had a different format and was based on producing one overall winner.
Under previous rules, fighters fought multiple times in one night before crowning one individual winner, while a more brutal rule set was employed by the UFC.
