Kyrgios’ ex warns tennis star’s new girlfriend after pair go Instagram official

The ex-girlfriend of Australian tennis star Nick Kyrgios has warned his new partner that history is likely to repeat itself because "he is too afraid to be alone."

Model Chiara Passari shared a highly publicised and sometimes hectic relationship with Kyrgios from July 2020 until late 2021, but the two-time Grand Slam quarter-finalist has since gone public with Costeen Hatzi.

The Canberra native's dating life has earned just as much attention as his tennis career in recent years, and his whirlwind romance with Passari had proved just as chaotic at times.

Kyrgios, 26, took to Instagram on Thursday and shared a photo stood with his arm around his new blogger girlfriend, choosing to usher 2022 in by sharing his new relationship with his 1.7million followers.

In the caption, Kyrgios posted a heart and praying-hands emoji as he wrote: "I'm blessed. This is to the new year and a chance for all of us to get it right."

However, Passari was anything but overjoyed for the new couple after they went official, warning her 'successor' the romance may not last the long haul.

"This girl has no idea what she's in for," Passari told the Daily Mail Australia. "The exact same things happened to me.

"He moves on [quickly] because he is too afraid to be alone."

Passari previously suggested that Kyrgios 'love bombed' her during the earlier phases of their relationship, a term used to describe acts of intense attention and affection in a bid to create dependency.

This is the same pattern she predicted his romance with Hatzi will follow, starting off strongly before quickly descending into vitriol and arguments.

Kyrgios was first pictured alongside Hatzi attending a basketball game at Sydney's Qudos Bank Arena earlier in December.

Over the course of their relationship, which lasted a little more than a year, Kyrgios and Passari were often pictured together, with the latter even joining the world No. 93 at several of his tournaments.

It was during one of Kyrgios' hotel quarantines in October that South Australia police had to be called to defuse an argument between the two.

The incident was in relation to a photo Passari shared on Instagram with Kyrgios seemingly in bed with another woman, alleging the incident happened after the Australian Open concluded in February.

It's understood Hatzi, 21, is an aspiring influencer who lives in Sydney and recently graduated from university with a bachelor's degree in psychological science.
