Golf fans go mad as Paige Spiranac posts photo of her age-defying mum in her 60s

Paige Spiranac hit back at a social media critic who quizzed the stunning golf personality about her future looks, by posting a picture with her ageless mother.

The 29-year-old American is a former professional golfer, now turned coach, who posts social media videos with tips and her views. She has also got over 3.5 million followers on Instagram.

And in a recent video on social media, Spiranac had praised Nick Faldo for his career both on and off the course – after he just retired after 16 years talking about the sport on American TV network CBS – before criticising his last couple of years after losing his 'spark' in the commentary box.

This prompted a tweet from a golf fan who stuck up for the six-time major winner, with the social media user questioning where Spiranac will be in 20 years time 'without your looks'.

But Spiranac hit back in style with a tongue in cheek reply, posting a picture alongside her mother: "This is my mom in her 60s. I think I’m going to be just fine."

This prompted replies about her mother's appearance, @ShutUpGary_Man said that Spiranac's family had won the genetics lottery after seeing the picture, he added: "Man, your family definitely won the genetics lottery. Mom is beautiful. Her mom was probably beautiful as well. You’re family is aging like wine, I’m aging like 2% milk."

@HowardSmolen was one of the many asking Spiranac if her mother was single, he added: "Your mom is incredibly beautiful! If she’s single, somehow, I throw my hat into that ring!" @EddieMa83674974 was left confused whether he fancied Spiranac or her mother more, he added: "This is so confusing……I’m only in my late 30’s……I should definitely fancy Paige more but I’m not actually sure now. Genetics are strong as hell that’s for sure."

@teddy7_theodore added that Spiranac's mother was 'almost magical', he added: "No kidding Paige. Your mom is absolutely beautiful, stunning, almost magical. I'm almost 60, and I could never come close to looking as spectacular as your mom."

In her original video posted on Twitter that started the row, Spiranac said that she was a big fan of recently retired commentator Faldo but felt he lost his sparkle as a commentator.

"Nick Faldo finally retires and everybody is rejoicing," said Spiranac in the video which has been viewed nearly 240,000 times. "Well maybe not everyone. He has had an amazing career on and off the golf course. I was a big Nick Faldo fan and thought he was amazing in the commentary booth until the last couple of years.

"I don't know if he was bored, but he didn't have that spark like he used too. I think golf is searching for its next great commentator. I want somebody who is funny and entertaining."

She was supported on Twitter by @thegoldentate who wondered why people were criticising Spiranac, he added: "I don't know why people come so hard at Paige. She's smoking hot, plays good golf, and can speak knowledgeably about it."
